Thommen is a major Swiss watchmaking company. Already one of the most important in terms of watch production at the end of the 19th century, it brought an innovation to the 20th century that transformed watch precision: the Nivarox. But this was not the only quality of this factory, which few remember today, yet which still exists.
This American-Swiss manufacturer from the very early 20th century produced high quality watches, and created the Avia brand, taken over much later by Degoumois & Cie.
Fabrique d'Horlogerie La Glycine was one of the first Swiss watchmakers to market automatic watches in the early 1930s, and some of its models, such as the Airman and Vacuum, are sought-after by collectors today.
