In this third and final part of the article "Chronographs without counters and stopwatches," we will focus on the many "Stop watch" watches created by manufacturers and etablisseurs. These are watches inspired by chronographs but which do not have all the same functions. To put it simply, there are two types of Stop watches:
- if the central hand runs continuously and can be stopped by a push button, it is a "stop-en vol" watch
- if the central hand is fixed at noon but once started cannot remain in place without pressing a push button, it is a "Chrono-stop" watch.
Some of these watches are highly sought after: the Rolex Zerograph, of course, but also the Mimolymic, the Tissot Mediostat, and the remarkable Longines Stop watches.
