Buttes Watch marketed its watches under several brand names, including BUT, BWC and Butex.
Officially, the company's origins date back to 1917, when Arthur Charlet set up his watchmaking business in Buttes, a small village between Fleurier and Sainte Croix. In fact, he took over the activity of another watchmaker, Henri Jeannin-Rosselet, a watchmaker since 1894.
Buttes Watch's watches were of good quality, and the company was known in particular for its chronographs.
