The Manufacture d'Horlogerie Tramelan Watch Co. was founded in Tramelan in 1907 by Louis Jeanrichard, Léon Ducommun, Henri-Alcide Meyrat and Ariste Béguelin-Richard [1].

1908

The DAMAS trademark is registered the same year.

This factory first produced anchor calibers for pocket watches, with 17 to 19 lines, then, from 1913 onwards, cylinder calibers and calibers for wristwatches with 11 and 12 lines.

Watches were sold under the Damas brand name, but other trademarks were registered, such as Tramelan Watch Co. or Avenir.

1921

The company ran into difficulties at the end of the First World War, and despite a change of management, went bankrupt in 1923 [2].

DAMAS, and the other Tramelan Watch brands, were transferred to Fabrique Béguelin et Cie in Tramelan in 1924.
