The Tavannes Watch Co. was one of Switzerland's most important watch manufacturers, and millions of watches worldwide bear the Cyma brand name.

The company also produced some remarkable timepieces, such as the first Swiss water-resistant wristwatch, and the first alarm wristwatch with a hammer striking a stamp.

Cyma experienced many difficulties with the "quartz crisis" and its name is almost forgotten today.
