Bovet is an illustrious name in Swiss watchmaking, cited as one of the pioneers of the Chinese watch in the 19th century. This is another branch of the Bovet family that has made a name for itself in Fleurier in the field of chronographs.

During its short existence, this La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacturer was known for the quality of its chronographs. In 1944, Compagnie des Montres Astin was taken over by the Schwarz family, who already owned several watchmaking factories, including Sultana, Nouvelles Fabriques Le Phare, and Les fils de Schwarz-Etienne, montres Alpha.
