Wilhelm Kaufmann founded Fabrique Wilka (the first letters of his name) in Geneva in 1909 [1]. He soon specialized in wristwatches, in particular luxurious ladies' models in platinum and adorned with precious stones.

Fabrique Wilka is a manufacturer, producing calibers of all shapes and sizes.

In 1928, Wilka acquired the Compagnie des Montres Novalis in Geneva [2]. Founded in 1919, this factory may already have supplied movements or watches to Wilka. But the economic situation was bad, and Wilka was in difficulty in 1932.

1927

Although the company didn't disappear, it wasn't until after the Second World War that Wilka once again rose to prominence, this time as a simple manufacturer. Numerous classic models are launched with calibers from Ébauches SA.
