The true story of Miramar watches

The Miramar story began in 1927, when Charles Reuge set up a watchmaking and finishing workshop in Geneva [1].

When Charles Reuge died in 1949, Henri Kohler took over and changed the company name to Miramar [2].

Henri Kohler left the company the following year, however, and a succession of managers followed.

It was from this date onwards that watches with the Miramar brand name were launched on the market. These were classic anchor watches based on Ébauches SA.

An interesting model was launched in 1955: a watch with a 24-hour display. This type of watch was in vogue in the late 1950s.

In 1956, Claude Girardin became director [3]. But he also became involved in other companies such as Ogival, Era and the Sagiter group, and the Miramar brand was no longer promoted.

Miramar disappeared with the "quartz crisis" in 1995 [4].
