Founded to manufacture the curious Sector watch, Record Watch in Tramelan soon became a manufacturer of remarkable timepieces. The company was acquired by Longines in 1962.

Somewhat remote from the watchmaking regions of the Neuchâtel mountains and Biel, the Montilier factory nevertheless succeeded in becoming a major watch factory employing several hundred watchmakers. It disappeared in the 1960s.
